Jane H. Euler has a way of making space feel safe, comfortable, and open. As a Serious Illness Companion and our Chief Doula, she supports individuals facing life-limiting disease as well as the families and friends who journey beside them. With quiet compassion, Jane invites honest conversations about wishes, needs, and care goals. She sits with people coming to terms with impending loss—offering gentle support, shared laughter, and, when needed, a space for tears.
Jane’s path to these roles was shaped long before she knew what an “end-of-life doula” was. She spent time with a fellow church member newly in hospice. She walked alongside a neighbor who had no family to support her at the end of her earthly life. She kept vigil through the night so a friend’s husband could get much-needed rest. She also considers being present when her own parents passed a sacred honor. These experiences ultimately led Jane to co-found Present for You to bring the benefits of this work to more people beyond her solo practice.
The first time Jane formally sat at the bedside with a family, she knew she had found her calling. A daughter, overwhelmed by her mother’s decline, initially resisted the idea of a doula. Jane sat with them, however, holding hands, listening to the fragments of a life story, and then something shifted. In that quiet, emotional space, the family found moments of profound love. Between presence and departure, Jane understood she was being called to this work. The daughter would later tell her, “I didn’t know I needed a doula until I had a doula.”
Jane believes that living in spite of illness and then reaching the end of life can be a time of transformation, learning, and even lightness for some. She offers empathetic listening, judgment-free presence, and deep respect for each individual’s journey. She is honored to walk alongside you and those around you, helping create space for reflection, connection, and legacy on your own terms.
